Greetings!

Hi! Hi! So... hello. Hi.
Are you picking up on it? Can you sense it? My social awkwardness is tangible, even with the delete key mere centimeters away from my fingers. Sigh. Old habits die hard, I suppose.

So this blog is more... umm... general, I guess. It's less about specific fandoms than it is about embracing your fanhood. I know that it's called Fangirl it Up... But if you are a guy and care about any of these fandoms, feel free to continue reading. It's not specific to girls, this blog, but there will be a bit more squealing (on my part) and shipping than you may be used to. If you are a girl, welcome to the sisterhood.
So let me truly begin by listing my fandomsss:
1. First and foremost, Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus. I can't separate them. They both contain some amazing characters (several of the same), have the same author, and employ all of the same ideas, with some new concepts coming into it in HOO. Riordan is an astounding author, with a great sense of humor and creativity. Although, allow me to clarify. I like the book series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Not the movies. I am not associated with them in any way. But more on that later.
2. Harry Potter. You thought that generation was done, didn't you? You thought you had seen the last of the Potterheads. HA! J.K. Rowling is an amazing author, and the films are some of the better book-to-movie adaptations I have seen (especially the earlier ones, now that I'm rewatching them). The characters are amazingly well-developed, as well as the story line. That someone can think several books ahead to make things from the first book relevant in the fourth, that someone can have that foresight, is amazing.
3. Fablehaven. Yes, it is a younger age-leveled series than the others. But Brandon Mull is a fabulous author, who I have actually met, and Fablehaven can compare with anything else I have read. If you have not read these books, no matter your age, please go read them. Please.
4. My fourth fandom is... a TV show. GASP. Would you like to guess what it is? No, I guess not... I'll just tell you, seeing how you can't respond fast enough. DOCTOR WHO! The Doctor is an incredibly complex character, which makes it incredibly difficult to portray him through a TV show rather than a book. It just makes the actor(s) who play the Doctor and people who write the script for the Doctor that much more amazing.
5. The Hunger Games. Suzanne Collins is an incredible author, and deserves much recognition. It takes an amazing amount of talent to create an entire new world with no preset rules or principles. And Collins's world was believable, the story was gripping, dangerous, and edgy. Also, the movies were insanely close to the original story. I am tremendously excited for Mockingjay I to come out!
6. The Divergent Trilogy. Veronica Roth is the author that I most recently finished reading from. I finished Allegiant. And I cried. To those of you who have read it, you know what I mean. Roth made me feel such fangirl-y feels that I didn't know what to do with myself. So thank you, Veronica Roth.
EDIT: 7. The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. I love this series! I have all of the books on my Kindle and they are wonderful. Fantastic writing, marvelous premise, and engaging characters all help this book to be fabulous.

I promise, it does get a bit more entertaining from here, but I did need a post where I could just introduce myself and whatnot. Oh! About that. I am anonymous, hence the name. So, ummm, you won't know who I am. At all. Possibly ever. But that's ok, right? That's why  you came to a blog, and not YouTube. And I doubt any of you would even vaguely know who I am even if I did tell you my name. That's alright too. All you need to know is that I use good grammar, know my stuff about writing, and ADORE being a fangirl.

Now, final statement. I promise. If you are a fangirl/boy in any way, you are welcome here. You don't even have to be interested in the fandoms that I am interested in. In fact, if you know of any books/TV shows/whatever that you think I would enjoy, feel free to comment!

Oops, I lied. I have one more thing to say, sorry. I may possibly start different blogs for each of my individual fandoms. Possibly. I'm not sure yet, but when/if I do, I'll be sure to let you all know.
Ok now I'm done. Thank you for listening to me ramble.

Good luck in life, happy watching, happy reading!
