WORD VS. WORD

Today I come to you with a post that is not even remotely fandom related, though I will try to work something in. I will somewhere... I always can.

But anyway. Back to the nonfandom-y stuff for right now. *shivers* I never thought I would say that. Ever *shudders*. Anyway. I am irritated. Thoroughly, increasingly, completely, insatiably, wholly, fully, utterly, absolutely, unreservedly, altogether, downright irritated. (My thesaurus is my best friend. Just in case you didn't think I was enough of a nerd already.) But the reason I am irritated is not because of some huge thing. It's not about a curfew, or dating, or whatever the flip else normal non-nerdy girls worry about. It is about a word. One word, to be exact. Imposter. Or, impostor. It's absolutely killing me. Not the word itself... That doesn't bother me. But the spelling. Yikes. Because I have spelled this word like; "imposter" for my whole life. But now, my English teacher is telling me that it is supposed to be spelled "impostor" in America. I didn't know I was spelling British. It's just how I've always always spelled imposter. The o just looks incredibly wrong to me. But I don't know. I know a good deal about the English language, and I know that imposter is a proper spelling of the word. And I guess that impostor is another proper spelling. I just can't make myself use it. I'd better get my act together, or people will think I'm from the UK. "Oh no," she says sarcastically. "Not where J.K. Rowling and BBC are. Not where Doctor Who and Sherlock and Hogwarts are!" Oh well...

OH! Also. I have one more thing  to say and then I will leave you all alone so you don't need to read my ramble anymore. I am considering using my potential YouTube channel, which I have through my Google/Blogger/ApparentlyEverythingintheWorld account, to make fandom related videos. These may include the following features: Fan Art is Fabulous; Demigod Karaoke (where I take songs and give them different lyrics, based of the PJO/HoO series); and others that I will come up with later. What do you think? Because I won't do it if I don't think it will get a good response.

But thank you for listening to me ramble! And now, I am done.

Good luck in life, happy watching, happy reading,
Fangirl Anonymous
